Camp Chapel has a number of children and youth ministries as we follow our mission to worship make disciples and serve. If you are interested in learning more about the ministries below or would like to start a new one please contact us.

Back to School: Adopt a Kid Program

Each year Camp Chapel provides homeless children at the Eastern Regional Resource center with clothing, back-packs, and school supplies so they are well equipped to learn and succeed in the new school year.

Boy Scouts

Boy Scouts of AmericaCamp Chapel sponsors Troop 433.  The mission of the troop is to serve others by helping to instill values in young people, to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime, and to achieve their fullest potential by pursuing these three aims:

  1. Growth in moral strength and character
  2. Participation in citizenship
  3. Develop physical, mental, and emotional fitness

Children’s Ministry Project: Children Helping Others

The youth and children of Camp Chapel participate annually in the Children’s Ministry Project. This project seeks out local organizations that need our help. For example, in the fourth year of this ministry we supported mothers and babies from the Women’s Care Center, a local community organization.

The children did an outstanding job of decorating bags and bibs and packing helpful supplies donated by our church members. We were able to pack over 20 individual bags to share with the families at the center.

Eastern Family Resource Center

Camp Chapel cares for the homeless at Eastern Regional Resource Center in a variety of ways. For example, recently our Youth Group produced a hand puppet show telling the true story of Easter, a program that was very well received by the kids and adults. We also support children at the shelter each year in their Back To School program by providing new outfits, uniforms, backpacks, and school supplies.

Gifts of Love: Christmas Ministry

Each year Camp Chapel connects with local schools and the Eastern Family Resource Center to purchase clothing and toys for children at Christmas. We place gift tags on bulletin boards around the church, each with a gift listed. Church members take a tag, purchase the gift listed on it, and return the gift with the tag.

The Circle of Sisters bible study group has a wonderful time wrapping the gifts which are then distributed to the area locations.

Kids Ministry

The goal of our Kids Ministry is to provide activities and events to children and youth from our congregation as well as the surrounding community. We pride ourselves on offering monthly events designed to entertain children of all ages in an atmosphere of faith and fellowship. Events include: pumpkin painting, family bingo, movie nights, and a variety of entertainers such as puppeteers, balloon makers, and comedians, just to name a few. All of our events are offered at no cost with the exception of our annual community carnival which is held in early August every year. The cost for this event is minimal in order to accommodate all families with the proceeds benefiting the various needs of our community.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible SchoolOur Vacation Bible School is held the week after July 4 each year.

A group of twenty volunteers, young and old, spread the word of Jesus to 50+ children. We enroll children from our congregation and from the surrounding community.

The program includes music, crafts, and a short video, all based on the Bible story of the day. We have 5 classes from 2 years old through high school. Our volunteer teachers are dedicated to helping children receive a Christian experience over the summer.
